Hello, I am new to this forum and Jaguar ownership. I have a 1997 XK8 tat I just took out of storage , put on the road and limped home. Hoping for some tech advise when I get into it. All I have done so far is a quick scan and it has multiple misfires and coil failures. Car has 65,000 on it ,but probably has not gone through three tanks of gas in the last two years. I was expecting fuel problems not ignition ones.

Welcome to the forum paulab,

Jaguars need to woken up carefully! If you have codes, post them in the XK8 tech section for advice. Be sure to post the actual codes and not descriptions.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US North East Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/regional-34/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Hi and a very warm welcome Paulab.

Post your codes when you get chance, I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

For me, I would start with some fresh fuel and check the fuel pump, fuel pressure at the rail and plugs.

Hope this helps,
