Smile New in Texas

Hello all! Just got my 1999 Jagual xk8 yesterday! Needless to say I am impressed so far. For anyone interested how I came to own this car, read on.

I was at AutoMax yesterday to get a quote for a 87 Buick Riviera that I was going to sell. While there, I struck up a conversation with a gentleman who was there to sell his car. I asked him which car he was trying to sell. He points to a slick looking black car in the lot and he says that one. I asked him what was it. He said a 99xk8. I asked him how much did they offer him for it, and he replied $5,000.00. I kind of laughed and said you arn't going to sell it are you? He said he had to sell it, as he needed the money before Sunday, to repay his parents, who were coming in from California. Well, long story short, I went out and looked at it, drove it, and bought it. ($6,000.00) I will post pictures later.

So I had to look up the forums on Jags and I found this one. I have already downloaded the owners manual and found many more things about the car on here.

I am very impressed with this source of information and want to give thanks in advance to any and all on here who contribute to this site. Hopefully in the future I will be able to solve someone else's problems as I gain more knowledge and experience about these cars.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome fellow Texan. Sounds like a great deal. Jags of the era are notorious for a few fatal flaws, but read and heed all of the advice posted on here about preventative measures and it will be a fine car.

Go into any section of the forum and there will be a black "New Thread" button near the top left of the screen, click that and you're on the way.
