Default New owner of 1996 VandenPlas

Hello Everyone,
I bought my '96 Vanden Plas on February 14th of this year. I showed the photo of the car to my wife and she said, "nice, buy it for me." She was not a bit serious, so when I drove up with it, she was understandably surprised. Of course, I really bought the car for me and she knows it. She says I look really good in it. How can you argue with that?
I got a nice deal on the car from a very good customer of mine who is noted for his fine maintenance of his vehicles. I've put a little money into it as I expected, but there are still a few details that need sorting out. This is why I joined the forum. I love the car in every way. It is classy, sexy, luxurious, powerful, and just plain fun to drive. Who said 4 doors isn't cool?
I'm looking forward to being a full-fledged member of the forum.
Greetings,
Tom

Welcome to the forum Tom. Lots of good info on this forum and I know there are some good roads to take your new kitty on in SC. I was stationed in Charleston for 6 years.
Good Luck.

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome. I came across this site today and thought it might be appropriate to share with Jag lovers: http://www.carguysite.com/index.html. Thought he doesn't mention Jags specifically, his characterization of English car lovers is certainly appropriate.

Hi Guys,
I posted a question about my '96 Vanden Plas here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...g-sound-62043/
But so far have gotten no reply. Did I post in the wrong area or is it just a boring question? ;-)

I'll move that post over to the model specific section for your year. X300 for info.

No question is boring.
