Hi from the sunshine state and from Tampa. I am a new Jag owner, obtained from an estate a 1997 Vanden Plas owned by a 87 year old person, really wanted an xk8 convertible but have not come across a really good one that did not have all the common problems or had very poor maintenance. The Vanden was cared for and no expense was spared, it has had all systemsm replaced, all maintenance performed to the extreme no one had ever sat in the rear seats I believe, a couple of minor scratches on the rear bumper, and everything on it works. I feel extremely luckly to have gotten it and drive it everyday, it had 87k miles in 13 years has all records for the entire time. I am still looking for a good xk8 convertible or would take a coupe, would like to work out a trade for an xk8, but after seeing everything to watch out for maybe I should stay with the winner I have. Anyhow glad to be a new member and get more info and knowledge on the xk8,s. Other than lenjoying cars, I like Vegas and go several times a year. Dave in Tampa

Welcome, Dave. Sounds like you got one of those really nice ones we always dream about. I find your problems finding a nice XK8 very interesting. When I decided to get an XK8, I was looking at ads from all over the county and I thought I might have to go to Florida to get a good one. There just seemed to be so many down there. I guess they all sound good in an ad, though.
