New to us - 2003 XK8 Convertible
Picked up the car 2 days ago! Have been enjoying reviewing the XK8 thread and the youtube videos, Secrets of the Jaguar XK8 XKR. With only 51K miles, and good service records, I'm happy with the engine/transmission performance and behavior. Have already ordered the jagwrangler.com's RealGauges, both temp and oil as I'm not a fan of "dummy" gauges. Now having "fun" researching the importance of the battery!! Already learning its importance as I'm starting out with windows that don't return to top after opening/closing the doors. But still, a beautiful car that is fast and handles great!

So after checking the battery, a Bosch and less than a year old, verifying voltages, 12.4V with truck open, ignition off and 13.4V with engine running, did the hard reset routine. Turned engine/ignition off. Disconnected negative battery cable. Got a screwdriver to short negative ground cable to positive post. Reconnected negative ground cable to battery. Got back in to start engine and noticed message center stating "Driver's Door Open". Much better than "Passenger Door Open"! Put in Drive to test run and the locks clicked close. Many kudos to this forum and the kindness of those who have posted so many helpful hints. Looking forward to driving home tonight!

You can also use the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
