Well err, it being the car you thought you bought might be a good idea.

Add in an HPI check, and from your location, corrosion checks.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on your purchase, you will find lots of good info over in the X Type section.

Welcome to the forum,

Maybe you can do an X Vs Mondeo comparison?

I was thinking the same. Kinda like Mythbusters. Let us know about what you can as far as similarities and differences, chiliv6.

Chilli, welcome aboard mate...you've just found one of the friendliest forums around.
Great members, top notch techs, lots of knowledgable members and fun in the off topic section too.....all good

Had the Mondeo myself ( well actually around 7 of them ) the last was a ST Tdci remapped to 195bhp black on black with the ST 18" wheels.....lovely car, great to drive, fast, economical and comfortable

I also had the X type you are about to get.....mine was a 2.5 though but also an 02 plate.
Great car to drive and sooo sure footed with the AWD of course ( excellent for the snow / ice and wintry conditions - even better with snow tyres ) I always got compliments on my Jag from so many different types of people. They have a much wider appeal than you might think!

Yours being the 02 plate first thing to do is to research the T/C and probably do a fluid change ( It is NOT sealed for life NO MATTER WHAT THE BOOK SAYS! )
Check into the X type section and read the X ype quick FAQ link thread if you haven't done so already. Other things to look for may be dash vents popping up, door handles difficult to open ....there are threads here which deal with these issues!

Above all.....Enjoy the car
