i have just purchase my first Jaguar, a 1994 XJS 6.0 convertible. I am hoping to enjoy many years of happy ownership.

By the way I am located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Are there any other XJS owners in
this forum who are based in the UAE?

 

I have been looking out for a late model 6.0 XJS convertible for some time and never expected to find one in the UAE

 

There is some work to be done:

oil leak to engine
rear differential leak
leather interior replacement (probably beyond refurb)
repaint

 

Labor costs are good here so the paint and interior will be cost effective compared to home (UK)

 

Forgot to include soft top replacement

 

Challenge is finding a mechanic who knows and understands old jags. Unlikely unless and other members can provide leads.

 

Intention is to take car to UK for summer use when I visit there

 

I need to work out the order to approach the work

 

Really want to have it all done in the next few months and shipped so it arrives just after 6 months of ownership when the import tax disappears

 

Historically I have always owned old Merc’s and still have two including a Pagoda
