My name is Ralph. Two weeks ago I decided to roll the dice and bought a 2005 XK8 convertible (red) with 78,000 miles. Figured it would have a few issues so took it to a recommended independent import mechanic to go over it and correct any obvious problems... then held my breath. News wasn't too bad, new brakes, coolant housing + hoses, trunk shocks, battery, windows off track, and a couple of other minor issues. Next stop is to the detailer... numerous scratches, door dings, etc. He's got a paintless dent removal tech that's supposed to be pretty good. This is my second Jag as I owned an XKE many years ago. Hopefully this will turn out to be a pleasurable experience.

Will definitely put up some photos when I get it back. Taking it in tomorrow morning for PDR, machine buff, glazing, 2 coats wax, and complete interior detailing.
