So I'm prompted to post or be kicked out....
Silence is golden; What's the use of chatter if you have nothing to say? I'm enjoying the forum, learning about the beautiful car I just bought (XK8).
If you want to throw me out, it will hurt. Please help me understand the rational behind the rule?
So here's my second post, introducing myself and the new love in my life...
Mid life crisis, the kids say; Adapted transportation to suit my age, I say...
Had bikes, boats, model airplanes and now I'm of age. At only 10% of the original value, 100 KKm on the clock and looking as good as new; Had the weak spots removed from the distribution and cooling at a local garage at about half the price the dealers quoted. Anyone needing Jag service in the north of the Netherlands, just send me a ping.
Today I painted the drivers seat (ivory). It was damaged from multiple entries from the previous owner. Had spent a week trying to make my own dye from modelairplane leftovers. learned a lot and then ordered a bottle from Gliptone in the UK. My 3 year old could have done the job, great result!
more adventure to come: the seats do not tilt (very basic version with only 1 motor for lifting the seat. i will build a solution to this because my leg goes to sleep because of the front of the seat being just a little too high for my comfort.
And no cruise control, no heating in the seats, no memory . Very basic edition, but it growls like all the others!

Welcome to the forum Keestanis,
Good to have you with us.
We like our members to have an involvement with the community, if you didn't want
to post why did you join? Help me understand your rationale.
You could always post a pic of the car.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

If no one posts, there wouldn't be anything to read.......................
There's plenty of opportunity for posting without answering technical questions. Try starting with a
pic of your XK8. We all like pics.

Ooops, I meant to merge your two threads Keestanis, but merged the posts instead.
Anyway no harm done, don't worry what the kids say, as long as you are enjoying the car.
I'm sure many people would be interested in your projects, seat rejuvenation is on a lot of members lists to do.
You will find all the interested folksin the XK8/R section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-17/

At least the forum is alive! 2 reactions in 2 minutes...
just Figured out how to attach a pic of the XK8, share the joy...
Will work on the avatar later
BTW I joined basically in order to be able to ask questions when I would come accross some issues. But have been able to resolve most myself...
But I guess I'm a life member now....

Hi there and welcome to the forum, good to have you here with us
You've already received 2 great answers as to why we "prompt" members to become a little more involved rather than just lurking.
The other upside is, we now know a lot more about you , your car etc than we did before. You have hopefully realised that we're not Ogres and are generally nice friendly welcoming guys.
Hopefully we build a relationship that lasts along with that of the car, maybe even beyond, who knows?
There's a really great mix of information, camraderrie and fun
I have manually upgraded you to full forum access so you can better view the whole site and all its features
Jump on in and enjoy the site.................
