Smile Newbie, Jag hunting... XK or F Type

Howdy, auto aficionado, pedestrian daily driver, 2 additional non-exotic lovable toys in the stable. Intrigued by 2010-2013 XK and F-Type S AWD (2016). Fully appreciate they're very different cars (GT vs “sports car”). Seeking opinions and info re operating costs, mild snow performance (FYI work from home and run winter tires & rims - originally from central NY, it’s what you learn. : ), common repair issues, etc.. I’ll be here all week, try the veal, tip your waitress...

Welcome.

I will leave answers from your side of the equator to the question.

Good luck either way.

Welcome to the forums Smonop,

Good to have you with us.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/ to the XK/XKR forum and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/ to the F-Type forum for help, advice and information.

I suspect owners of each will insist their model is the best but I'll give what I hope is an unbiased view. When I came to change my 2007 XK, I considered both XK and F-Type. The only thing that decided me against the F-Type was carrying capacity. We use the Jaguar for Continental touring and it just doesn't have sufficient luggage space. If that hadn't been a consideration, I'd currently have an F-Type. I'll not comment on winter performance as we get nothing like Northeast USA snowfall here in the UK.

You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
