Default newbie in upstate NY, need some help!

Hey guys. English cop now living in upstate New York. Been looking for an XK8 for a while, and found a '97 convertible 'project car'. Doesn't seem too bad but the passenger side cat got hot and damaged a module and some wiring above it. I think it's the ignition/windows module, not sure yet. Does that make sense? Only had one quick chat with the buy, and getting more info later. Any thoughts? It has an Arden body kit and non-standard but not too horrible rims. (anyone got a set of Detroits? LOL). It's fairly cheap, or am I

Thanks, K9

Welcome to the forum K9.

Now then, we need some pictures when you can. Arden Body kit, cost an arm and a leg with a kidney thrown in.

As for your tech type questions, from the Main forum page, scroll down to the XK8 section and ask away.

You'll find some great guys in there.

Welcome K9COP. Are you going to be doing the work if you pick up a project?

Yep yep, that was my intention. Despite being a 20 year service K9 handler, i still have som ebrain cells left, so should be able to do the more simple stuff. My local mechanic is pretty good and fairly accommodating, just the long haired colonel to convince now!! LOL
