A bit about myself:

Our first Jag was an XJ40 Sovereign, reluctant to part with her as she was so comfortable.

We now have a 2003 3L S type which is a lovely and reliable car.

We now need a bit of excitement so we are looking at the XK8.

Test drove the XK8 convertable and was amazed at how quiet it is with hood up. Love the car!! Hood down brings back memories of our long gone Austin Healey Sprite.

So hopefully I will not need your forum assistance if we do purchase an XK8! Well not too often anyway.

Welcome to this friendly Forum, thanks for the interesting intro.
If you're looking at the earlier (and better, of course) XK8 then look here
XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
I've moved your compliance plate question there.
I see you've already found the Oz section. Enjoy our membership here.

Welcome to the forum Macfish,

I can see you've already found your way to the tech section so no need for a link.

Plenty of information there on things to check when assessing a potential purchase.

Enjoy the search.
