Been around a while but trying to increase my post count to get a garage. Just bought a mostly restored 1971 XJ6 with only 28,000 miles on it! I have found lots of good info here on the Series 1 and the X308 which my wife drives. I also have a 2000 XJR that I bought with a broken secondary tensioner and chain. Good news is that the exhaust cam was in the only position with all the valves closed! I have a couple other Jags laying around but that is for another post. BTW I have been cut off by my wife from looking for Jags on Craigslist . It all started with buying her 2002 Vanden Plas so I don't think I can be blamed. Anyway...

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
