Default No longer a Lurker!

Ok, after about a year of lurking on this site, reading posts to learn what I could about Jags, the XF especially, I've finally decided it's time to become a contributing member. I just ordered my first Jag yesterday, a Corris Grey/Ammonite 2018 XF S with all options, so I now feel entitled to post to threads, whereas prior to yesterday I wasn't truly a Jag owner and therefore had little to contribute. Not that I do now, as the car hasn't arrived yet, and won't for probably 3 months, but I do have the benefit of having obsessed over this car for almost 3 years now. I've watched EVERY XF review, many over and over again, and read all of the XF (X260) threads. I've read all there is to read about the available options, and even done my share of comparing what's available if ordered from other countries. I waited to order mine mostly from hoping the new model year would offer a V-8 or some other more powerful engine option, maybe a better exhaust note, or a more luxurious interior with less plastic. Didn't happen with the 2017s, and none of that has changed for the '18s either, so rather than continue obsessing over this car for yet another year, I finally decided to just buy now. Some of those improvements will undoubtedly be implemented next year, as is just my luck, but I'm sure will come at a price increase as well, so I'm ok with buying now, despite these minor gripes. Can't wait for the car to arrive! I went all out and got all the options so will have plenty of tech toys to amuse myself with. I've wanted a Jag for the last 20 years, and this is my first custom order for a car, so I decided to get it exactly as I want it. You might say this is my dream car. Looking forward to no longer just lurking!

Welcome to the forum Van Greenwood (sandman799),

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You've already found your way to the X260 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums and the XF.

Thanks to all for the very nice welcome! I'm finding a lot of great information and opinions on here on various topics. Doing a lot of reading about paint protection films and sealants in preparation for the new car delivery. Will be so hard to take ownership, then drive to the detailer and have to part with her again for a couple of days, but don't want to mess up the perfect finish before it's protected.

Good plan ...... and you will at least first get to see and drive it after the long wait.
