Scratch one item from the bucket list: Own an XJ8. Love it, but accept I could be in for a world of hurt. This forum may save my sanity when things go afoul. Thanks in advance!

PAIN, NAH, frustration, maybe.
Do the catch up maintenance NOW. Take note of all the "must do" items (found in the XJ8 area, at the top of that section), and get them done, then settle back and ENJOY the ride.
You have not stated a year, as there are many variations of the XJ8, and some need more catch up than others.
