Default Pondering A Jaguar

Well, thought I'd say hello and do a quick intro. Been browsing around fora convertible for awhile now, going on 6 months give or take. Started off browsing around for a little Miata, just missed having a convertible and now that I'm down in Florida figured it was as good a time as any.

Miata led to thinking about the Mazdaspeed version they made, then on to alternatives such as the Z3, 350Z, S2000, and Boxster. But all of them seemed to be lacking a little something. I'd always loved the look of the XK8s, but was a little skittish due to the 'Jag Maintenance' horror stories. But the more I researched, much of it on these boards, the more comfortable I got. Finally came down to the S2000 and the XK8/R for various reasons. Completely different cars but something about each which I just enjoyed.

But the XK8 finally won me over when I sat in a couple. Just felt right. Still haven't found the one, and still debating a bit between the 8 and the R, but just a matter of time now til I find one I can't resist. Looking forward to joining the ranks.

Hi!

you should definitely do it! I haven't looked back since getting mine, even though we've had a few teething issues together! however, it's still nowhere near as unreliable as i was expecting, given all the horror stories i'd read. Plus, everyone who sees it loves it! Good luck!

Would certainly like an XKR but would be happy with an 8 I think. Love the styling and not sure how often I'd need the extra power. Plus seems like most the color combos I've really liked aren't R options.

Welcome to the forum,

Now you've decided on Jaguar and the preferred colour combos, keep service history very much in mind when checking possible purchases.

Enjoy the search.
