Default Potential New Jag Owner - '86 XJS

Greetings,

I'm in the process of (hopefully) buying a 1986 XJS w/a 5.7L 350 Camero engine.

I read the forum rules and I didn't see anything outright forbidding from posting Craigslist links, but if I missed it, I apologize in advance:
'86 Jaguar 359-4249

I took a look at it yesterday, and the seller agreed to fix some of the issues it has with it before I buy it:
- replacing the injectors
- recharging the A/C
- fix the cruise control
- some other minor misc things

Of note, it needs a back seat. It comes with 1 (not installed), but it's in pretty sad shape.

I'm hoping to buy it next Saturday. If I do, I'll be looking for some advice on what to do with the back seat situation. I've read some of the back seat removal options (more storage, etc.), but I'm still on the fence. Anyways, glad to be here, and hopefully I'll be qualified to be a part of this forum in about a week. Thanks!

Jason

Welcome to the forum Jason,

It looks a tidy vehicle but the issue that concerns you most has no pics in the ad.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-32/ to the XJS section for help and information. The resident experts will be able to advise options for refurbishing or replacing the rear seat.

Hope the deal turns out well.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome to the forum.

From the one interior shot it looks as though it has been standing for a long time, dull and dusty. Maybe find out more, the car looks tidy enough though.

Best of luck.
