Previous XJ8L owner looking to become XF owner
Hi Everyone,
I owned a 1998 XJ8L in BRG back in the day, and the XF has caught my eye.
I'll first through the forums for information on how to get a deal on a new one or a very lightly used one. Then I'll hopefully be able to become a contributing member as an owner.
I have owned all sorts of cars in the past such as a Lotus Esprit, Impala SS, Infiniti G35 coupe, Dodge Viper GTS, C5 Corvette, Porsche 911, Ferrari 355 F1, and currently I am experimenting with a new wave of propulsion in the Chevy Volt (actually a very cool car).
Thanks!

Yes, I did test drive an 2009 XF recently with 50K miles. I am not in the market for a car with that many years and miles, but I wanted to see what the XF felt like after that mileage. The car was at a dealer, and I can tell you that it had a horrible odor of something nasty covered up with a detergent smell (I think we have all experienced that at some time!).
But even with the miles and the odor, I was really impressed with the way the car felt and drove (solid and powerful, yet luxurious), so I am sure that I will be very happy with a newer one that doesn't smell bad.
