Red face Rear camera reinstall

The backup camera on my wife's 2016 XJL Portfolio has somehow receded into the bumper. How do I reinstall? Must I take off the bumper? Or can I access the camera by another easier method, like take off the latch? Thanks for the help. Lots of threads about cameras, but so far none of the details how to install them or reinstall it. Camera is still working oddly enough. Lord knows my wife needs that back up camera for such a long camera with poor rear views from the small window.

Welcome to the forums cayoung145,

There is nothing helpful in the factory Workshop Manual which just shows harness connectors to the rear bumper and the Parts Catalogue has no useful drawings to show the camera mounting. I've read of members managing to pull back a similarly displaced parking sensor using a valve grinding stick (the type with a rubber sucker on the end) but I can't see this being possible with the reversing camera. I think you will have to bite the bullet and take the cover off. Definitely a job for two and preferably three people.

I can see you've already found your way to the X351 forum with this question so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
