Can anyone shed any light on this situation… I have a 2000 XJR & I keep getting a P1646.This is the only code. I have over the past year replaced all of the O2 sensors & knock sensors. The check engine light will not go off. We have tried swiping out computers & sensors from other like cars and it still will not go off. Once reset, it will stay off for a while then after 1-2 starts, it comes back on. We’ve also tried disconnecting the battery as well. I’m at a loss…..

Please share your thoughts.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

It could also be the 2nd fuel pump/relay (which only kicks in after 3000rpm), so check the relays first. There has been some confusion about this code, as the obdii documents aren’t consistent regarding this one.
