Hey guys, just registered to the forums. I'm not yet a Jag owner but hope to be soon. I'm looking for a 97 xj6 for under $4000. I spent a few hours today going through the 40+ pages on the X300 forum and am fairly confident that a well cared for example would be a good match for me.

Just need to find one, seems to only be a couple nice ones close by and the asking prices are over blue book...

Thanks for the welcome. I think the only way to get a real feel for the trouble spots is real research. The x300 forum has tons of information, and by reading the entire forum (47 pages, I think) I can get a feel for common problems and their fixes. I must say, it inspires some confidence. Plus I have a nice 50 point list of things to look for when I'm checking out the car and have a frame of reference as to causes and repair costs.

Looking forward to (hopefully) being a Jag owner!
