Hi, my name is David and I live in Wales. When I was a law student in 1986 I had a '68 MkII Mini cooper that got stolen and thanks to the house price crash giving a big boost to the collector car market my copper went from £750 to £2,250 in 18 months. With the insurance money I bought a Series III xj6 - fabulous car.

Three months ago I bought my second jag. I've been out of the law for one and a half decades and having a small business meant owning vans. Now I'm back in the law and if I'm to wear suits and travel hundreds of miles up and down motorways I want a car that makes me feel good. I swapped the wife's 2001 Terios and £600 for a 1996 3.2 xj6 executive. Could not believe that such a small expense could get me such a luxurious car. I love it, no, I adore it.

Aty the moment it won't run after being sat in the sun for any length of time - the subject of my other post on this forum - but sooner or later that problem will be fixed and it is an insignificant minor iritation compared with the joy I get from looking at the XJ sitting in my drive.
