Senior Citizen bags Jag #3
I think I was about 21, and already a confirmed car-freak, when I bought a beautiful early '60's 3.8 MK II sedan. BRG of course, and in lovely condition except for a built-in proclivity to vapor-lock and run on only three cylinders when stuck in downtown summer traffic. Didn't know much about much in those days, boy, if I only had that car now!
The next Jag took many years to appear; about 3 years ago I bought a '90 XJ6 with 56K original miles that was previously registered to the building next to the White House. Great running car. My wife's boss managed to talk me out of it, what was I thinking? (answer: not).
The past couple of weeks has seen me and wife head for FL to pick up a '94 XJ6, really lovely in all the right ways, that I bought on Ebay when the fever set in again. We drove it home to Massachusetts, and are loving it. The Florida dealer, Century Motors of South Florida, was exceptional. I'm been a part of the car scene for many years, including holding a class 2 dealer license, and I've seen a zillion car dealers; most of them should have been taken out behind the barn and shot but Century is unbelievable.
I'll stop now, but I can't say enough good things about them. What a great experience, and a great car.
Jeff
I like you enjoy my XJ6 (94). My cat has nearly 240K, purrs every time I turn the key. Jagtech Ohio tells me the early to mid 90 XJ6's are are some of the better older models. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive her.
