Default Slowly finding parts for my '61 E OTS

Hi all,

I am slowly finding parts for my early RHD E-type OTS and was thrilled to find a smooth oil sump yesterday. Still looking for an SU carb set, steering rack, dash, tunnel pieces...

In case anyone needs one I have (in the US) a spare early rear suspension with the scalloped hubs and Dunlop brakes, a complete Mk X carb-manifold set (sold to me as an E-type set before I knew better), '61 Mk 2 motor and auto box, and a rebuilt '63 long block (matching R head and block) minus the smooth oil pan :-).

I also have an early Weber 45 setup with a Mangoletsi manifold and Italian Webers which I was going to use but decided against vintage racing the E as it's too valuable and I'm too crap a driver.

cheers, derek

Found the car 20 years ago in Zambia but slowly finding the parts I need to restore it. I need to find storage where I can work on it near London in case anyone has suggestions (perhaps Surrey or Kent?)

Hi All,

I was just wondering where you got you oil sump from? I'm also tying to locate one, however all a find are super expensive pans a month or more away. Any information would help thanks.

Just a lucky break-- been looking for 15 years and found one at a British car breaker. He asked for $300, I offered $500. We were both happy. Cracked ones come up on eBay sometimes if you know a good welder.
