Soon to be First-Time Jag owner

Hello all.
This Friday I will be picking up an '05 S-Type R in British Racing Green from Florida with 42K, and driving it back to Chicago. Provided there are no major surprises, I will be a first-time proud owner of a Jaguar by this weekend.
I've always been a fan of American muscle, and in fact have only ever owned wheels from Detroit--with the possible exception of a '90 "Chrysler TC by Maserati" (far more Detroit in there than Italy, I know). Despite the horrible reviews this car had, I must say I enjoyed it immensely until the head gasket blew a few years ago. Best winter car I ever had, no kidding! Part of my decision for switching to an "exotic" had to do with just how superior the interior of that car was, compared to my other rides. Also, they're just more fun and...exclusive.
I did about 1 month of research just deciding on which exotic car I wanted--everywhere from Maserati Coupe's to Mercedes. Once I decided the STR was for me, I spent another 3 months doing research specific to that car in various places on the net (including this forum) while I waited for a super deal to come along. When I finally saw what I wanted, I jumped on it.
When it comes to mechanical ability, I'm willing to get my hands dirty, but realize my limitations. I actually enjoy working on my own cars; despite the fact it takes me longer, I feel my job will ultimately be better because I'm actually concerned about the quality. I guess what I'm saying is...I'm the type that will spend 4 hours on a job that should have taken 2, if that's what it takes to do it right!
Thank you all for the fine posts and insights, and I hope to join you all soon.
