starstream intro, new member
Hello all you problem suffering Jaguar fans. I am the ( sometimes reluctant ) owner of a 92 XJ40 with 170 000 miles on it. The car is basically a very under rated car in Jaguar circles. Most of the bad rap the car gets result from owners, or previous ones, not paying enough attention to it. The XJ 40 is every bit as good as the models that preceded it, but, due to its complexity it needs a lot more of attention and personal involvement. If you don't want to get under the hood, and personally involved, do not think of a XJ40. Or better, don't even look to have a Jaguar. These cars are not for buying for the status and running the wheels off it. The used car lots are littered with those examples because of previous owners neglect to properly care for the car. The Jaguar dealers outrageous pricing of the service they should provide ( and sometimes don't ) are not exactly innocent in this. So, respect the XJ40ies and they will respect you in return, that is my introduction.

Welcome to the forum Peter,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ40 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.
