Default a sucker for punishment

I'm a new member. I have owned several E types, XJ's, Healey's, TR3's and a few TR6's, an MGA, and even a Singer 4AD at one time or another. All were moody, but I was young and didn't mind tinkering with them. Then about 10 years ago I bought a C5 Vette red conv. I was amazed. It ran whenever I turned the key and never broke down. I opened the hood once in a while to make certain it had a motor. It never leaked oil or used any. Amazing. I put my old XJS V12 in the garage and covered it with blankets and forgot about it...where it still sits today. Last week my daughter came home, took out the Vette and wrecked it, she's ok and Hagerty is working on getting it fixed ASAP. So last night after having a few I bought a 07 XK on EBay. The guy told me the top needs a minor adjustment or something as it will not operate. I started reading thru all the posts in the forum and it's all starting to come back to me like a bad dream...What have I done, I'm to old for this stuff.

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Welcome.

Your never too old, and the alternatives are unacceptable to me.

The itch needs scratching, enjoy.

Thanks for the support, I'm going to go pick up the beast today, have a few beers and crawl into the trunk to see if that luggage separator is correctly positioned. My wife said she thought I was over that British fetish I once had and then just rolled her eyes in disgust. Ha, just the reaction I expected from an Italian.
