Default sup fools

Hey guys. Sorta new to jags but not cars.I had a 86 xj6 about 10 years ago and now i go tomorow to pick up the 97 xkr i bought. Question is what do i look for and whats some problem areas that needs extreme attention to these? Is the s/c a good one and does it need oiled? Also what can these motors and trans hold power wise? I plan to do some modding but not to crazy cause it will be my d/d.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Head over to the XK8/R section and read up on the issues, tensioners are the ones that could bite hardest.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you

Welcome,

A '97 XKR?

If that's a typo for XJR, you need the X300 section for the last of the straight six model or X308 section if it's an early V8.

Welcome aboard.

Bit late to tell you what to look for as you have already bought it.

But the correct forum, will help you with maintenance issues.
