First of all, a Jaguar never brakes down, it just fails to proceed
But when it happens, it´s good to have forum friends shoulders to cry on.
Fell in love with the looks of the XJ6 series 3 and got two of theese. Nice car but maybe not always top nudge quality. Getting tired of those I got into the XJ40 world which was a great improvement. There is a linear index of price of the car and the time you spend in the workshop, matemahically proven.
So, buying cheap means hours of fixes and the time on the road limited.
Having more fun driving than fixing I have decided to move on to the X300 where I am currently looking for one in Sweden, but I find the X308 and the S-type also interesting.
Cheers, Tommy
