Default Tony

Hello, My name is Tony Quilici, Born and raised in San Francisco currently living in Dublin, Ca.

I have a 1994 Jaguar XJS with the V-12 6.0 Liter engine. I have owned this vehicle since 2007.

Purchased from my Brother in-laws Tow truck Impond Lot. (He drove for a while). It has 140,000 miles on the speedo. I have replaced the air-conditioning system and the front shocks. Rear need to be replaced ASAP.

But right now the major concern are yhe dreaded blown HEAD GASKETS> Yes I know. So my good friend from England who grew up working on JAGS. Is currently in the process of replacing them.

It started blowing white smoke from the left exhaust pipe and running low on coolant. We put some sealant in the raditor and that worked for a year. Then it finally gave out completely.

Anyway, the question I have is this, this motor has electronic ingition. We were able to find top dead center, is it safe to assume that the bottom dead center is relative in position?

Welcome Tony - I hope you get the engine sorted. My one tip, mark everything before take down and be sure the distributor drive is also marked at tdc so it goes back together nice and easy.
