Default What I can do , what I cannot do.

Hi folks,
I was 4 years old when my left leg was affected by polio .
Since a very young age I understood that there are some things which I will be able to do and some which will be challenging for me, cycling being one of them .I was around 8 years old when two of my cousins(similar age group) were ramming their BMX cycles into a metal garage door which was at the end of an incline, overlooking the backyard of the house.
Till that time I thought that I wouldn't be able to paddle the bike with my weak leg, but the incline gave me enough courage to at least get the feel of riding it.
After a couple of falls I got the hang of it and enjoyed riding the bike coming down from the incline and learned balancing it(without paddling it).
As luck would have it , one of my female cousins had a lady bsa slr bike.
Again I had a new idea that if I cannot put my left (weak) leg over the horizontal bar of a normal cycle , I may be able to manage a female cycle.
One fine morning I took the cycle to an isolated spot and started pushing it with my normal right leg. Had my fair share of falls that morning , but enjoyed the ride(without paddling again).
ONE WEEK of cycling without paddling , I once tried to paddle with my normal right leg, and to my surprise the paddle came back to its normal position , even though my left leg did minimal effort. By reflex I had already paddled again with the right and hence the bike kept moving on.
IT WAS THE GREATEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE TILL THEN.
Henceforth I would often ride my cousin sisters cycle every morning without anyone knowing about it.
Later I graduated to riding normal bicycles.
My father had tears of joy when I had enough courage to show him that I could ride bicycles. Hence came my first childhood bicycle THE BSA MACH 1.
I am 48 now and running a level 3 pediatrics Centre( I am a pediatrician ) .
Presently I ride a VANRYSEL ROAD BIKE ( decathlon) with shimano 105 group set. Am able to do around 10 kms per day on it.
I drive a FORD EVEREST SUV as my daily beater .
Am getting A JAGUAR XKR 2012 MODEL from a school batchmate and friend.
She's 10 years old now but having a low odo reading of 20000 kms , since in INDIA sports cars are very sparingly used on account of two reasons
1 They are ridiculously expensive (high custom duties) , around 180000 USD , and people who buy them are not exactly racing enthusiasts.
2 The local roads here have a lot of pot holes and unscientific speed breakers . The low ground clearance and this are not exactly a good combo for long drives . Even though good expressways have come up now.
I intend to keep this old girl in Italian racing red for life . Hence the need to join this esteemed forum.
Thanks!
