Wheelchair Carrier for XJ8

My wife has recently had a minor stroke and will be using a folding wheelchair. This will fit into the boot/trunk of my XJ8 saloon/sedan but when going on holiday/vacation I will require the boot/trunk for luggage/baggage and will have to carry the wheelchair on the outside. Can anyone recommend (preferably from personal experience) a suitable boot lid/trunk top carrier or a rear mounted cycle rack that can take a folding wheelchair? My XJ8 is the post-2004 aluminium body saloon/sedan. A roof rack would not be suitable because I would not be able to lift the wheelchair on to it singlehanded - it weighs 18.4kg/41lb (see - I am bilingual - English/American!)

Welcome to the forum,

Head on over to the XJ section and ask, I would think that a boot rack shouldn't be too hard to find.

Sorry to her about your wife, I hope all is well. You may need to go the trailer hitch route to mount a rack, but hopefully there's an easier way.
