Default Workshop Manual for 2007 xkr v8

Hi,

I've got a noisy timing chain tensioner and possibly vvt sprocket on my xkr v8 2007-ouch!
Jag agent wanting to charge a couple of grand so I was looking at some alternatives. One was doing it myself and I wanted to look through a manual to check out any special tools and procedures.
Can anyone help with one of these?
Anto

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
A 2007? That's unusual, I think topix is almost the only place, you have to pay but can download/print what you need.

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

I am looking for the 2002 XKR manual also. There are bits and pieces if you search for jaguar and PDF. I never have found a free manual download though.

Default Me too

I just had this done under (extended) warranty. Jaguar first thought that it was the timing chain tensioners, so they replaced them, but the sound didn't go away. So they then replaced the VVT actuators and the problem got fixed.

It took the jaguar mechanic two days to get the VVT actuators back in. So it seems a pretty big job...

Welcome to the forum Anto,

The XK Workshop Manual is available from a number of OnLine sellers in PDF format for around £10-15.

Follow this link XK / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK/XKR section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Greg,

You have a different model to Anto.

The Workshop manual for your model is JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) which is available as a free download from the forum.

Check the 'stickies' in General Tech Help section for download and installation instructions.

If you want another quote for the work then try XJK at Newcastle under Lyme. Not so far from you, I live just outside Crewe, and they have done work on my XKR and really know what they are talking about. tel No:01782 613434-web site XJK Independent Jaguar Specialists, Jaguar Parts and Servicing in Staffordshire
