Hi, I've just brought a X300 1995 executive that had been off the road for a few years. It needed new springs and shocks all-round so I started with the front. I dropped the front sub frame, shot blasted, replaced all the bushes and fitted new springs (comfort ones) and shocks
upon refitting it the front looks quite high. I have yet to do the back end.
when measuring the centre of the front wheel to the underside of the arch its approx. 16"
can anyone tell me what the ride height should be. I've checked the springs are correct with manufacturer/supplier.
I just wanted to check before I go any further.
New Vee mounts are correctly seated etc so nothing out there.
any advise welcome.
I'm located in Stafford and any advice is welcome.

150-155mm as measured from the ground to the bottom of the subframe, measured at the center. Same spec for the rear, also measured at the center of the subframe

The archives of various Jag forums are full of stories just like yours. Personally, I'm pretty well convinced that aftermarket spring manufacturers play it fast and loose with specifications. The first and most common warning sound is when a single part number is used to service an unusually broad range of years and models, like "Front Spring ABC1234, XJ6 XJ12 VDP XJR, all, 1992-1997". That sort of thing.

Sometimes new springs settle after a it of use. You might get lucky !
