XJ 2012 Base salvaged multiple issues
Hi, new to the forum, bought a XJ in 2022 from a specialist rebuilder of Porsches in Los Angeles. It was his wife's car and I was glad it was salvaged and rebuilt by a reliable shop. First week had a coolant leak, cost me $2K; 12 month after had a second coolant leak, another $2K. I was a bit concerned that it would not last. But then last year my sister and my daughter decided to make a road trip to NY Route 66 and the car survived the round trip, only when it was less than 100 miles from home it started getting some strange electrical issues - AC would shut down, nav screen shut down and then turn back on again. It went for a few months until I did a long drive over 1hr and I guess it charged the battery back and it was all good again. But about 2 month ago, the main dash went dark, I bought a new battery and after replacing it will crank but not run and the airbag light is on. Looked into what could that be and checked the fuses and the RCM connectors, no luck. Got myself a topdon top guru app and OBDII to find the codes and it shows the RCM fault code. No I am in a steep learning curve to try to fix the Jag. I also have an Audi Q7 which I had to hack the multimedia module, so I have been lucky on other forums to find what I needed from more knowledgeable people. Wish me luck.
Hello,
It looks like you've done your best keeping this cat on the road. Good Job!
Hopefully members of the XJ section will be able to help you resolve these problems once and for all.

thanks you all, hope to get back behind the wheel quickly, miss that 5 liter and crazy acceleration. I like to say that the XJ is a mustang in Tuxedo !! Love the car, but hate the little struggles... wish they made the electrical parts easier to be replaced and to be diagnosed.
