Xjs.
Hi, My name is Paul I live on the south coast of England this XJS. is the third Jaguar I have owned ( I also have a X type for daily use my fourth one) as you can see from my photos I have had some interesting cars over the years.
the XJS was bought about 11 years ago as a damaged car it had a rear blow out and it demolished the rear wheel arch this car had bad rust in only a few places so I had it cut out and replaced, Inner wheel arch, one sill part of other sill followed by an almost full respray it is very low mileage in the 40,000s so needed very little mechinical work
I had only done 1000 miles in it when it developed a leak in the oil cooler and was put in the garage "I will fix that soon" I said, so 10 years passed while it slept in my nice dry warm garage it is now time to wake it up again while it was sleeping it has gone from a type of car you would see every day to one you rarely see.
I have liked Jaguars for a long while from a mk.5 a friend owned in the 1960s now that was a big beast. I remember going passed stonehenge on the A303 at 140mph in another friends e,type in the 1970s my two XJ6 were my everyday transport for ten years
I rebored the 4.2 ltr out 20 thou. when I rebuilt the engine I'm sure it made it a lot faster, when I was doing an engine change one day the hoist began to tip up so I called my 87 year old mother & said here mum stand on the back of this hoist while I put this engine in she made very good ballast my mum
good sport my mum!
