Default XJS 3.6 Manual Trans Leaking at rear seal

1985 XJS 3.6 with a manual 5 speed transmission that is leaking oil. The rear bushing is the problem which also means there is a bad shaft or bad bearings. The transmission runs smooth but is leaking badly. I think this is a Getrag 270 transmission and have been told it was also used in BMW 3 and 5 series. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is should I be looking for a BMW transmission guy to repair this unit? I do most of the work on this car myself but a transmission is too much to tackel. Most Jag Mechanics have never seen a manual transmission in a XJS. Any advise would be appreciated...Thanks in advance
