Jaguar XF year 2008 Navigation Maps
HI, First of all thanks for running such an informative forum for the Jaguar Owners. I have recently moved to NZ and have brought my JAG XF 2.7 year 2008 with me. I was under impression that all i need is the NZ map DVD and the navigation should work fine. However I have contacted the local Auckland JAG dealer and have got the most disappointing reply that the Software need to be changed and they cannot do it and to make it worse they will not advice any further on where i can get it changed or get more help.
So if anyone here can advise on this, it will be much appreciated.
Regards
Kanwar

Hello [skanwar] and greetings from across the ditch.
First, may I suggest you post an intro in the New Members area. Not just a courtesy - you will get helpful advice there on how to best use the forum. For example, rather than details of your car in thread title, go to main menu, User CP, Edit Signature and include there. Now, whenever you post, accurate details of your car model, year, engine, variant etc will automatically be added - ensures advice can be offered accurately.
That said, I am surprised at maps advice from NZ dealer. A quick check confirms the XF 2008-2011 used the same Denso DVD system as the preceding S-Type and update maps are readily available based on Whereis mapping. Unless you have emigrated the car from Upper Transylvania and have forgotten the language (LOL), I anticipate no problems.
Try this link [update NZ maps disk] . . . confirm my entry of XF & 2008 still apply . . . and choose the NZ Ver 9 option @ AU$199.00. Contact them first to satisfy yourself that all is well.
Cheers and best wishes,
Ken

It could have been worse - there's a large number of Navigation Modules listed in the parts catalogue for different market specifications so at least having them tell you it's software and not hardware is a plus.
You need to find an Independent who has factory level diagnostics (Jaguar SDD - Symptom Driven Diagnostics). This will show the current configured Region and should give the option to change it to NZ.
Please follow Ken's advice about posting an Intro.
Graham
