Default selling your jag

Hi all, new joiner here. I'm just wondering how easy/difficult it is to sell your jag? i have 2014 XF which i am planning to sell. have listed it on the trademe for a long time but still hasn't got serious interest yet.

Any better way to sell the car? i have 3 cars and unfortunately with the new addition to family member, the XF is not that practical anymore.

It would help if you said where you are.

I'm in Auckland NZ !! I monitor all Jags on Trademe at least twice a day. It's like my other hobby, besides my X358.

I'm sure you monitor Trademe as well. XF is likely the more popular/numerous size, besides X-Type, but nevertheless ads can be up for 6 months or more. My own X358 XJ was at the dealer for 6 months before I bought it (at a reasonable price but not a fire sale). As and when I sell it (not likely presently) I would expect to take a big hit. Because Jags are a niche market attracting a relatively small number of enthusiasts, it seems to me.

Apart from a chance walk-by sale at a U-Sell site, I don't see that you can do better than Trademe. Ellerslie Car Fair is a waste of time IMHO.

Anyway, I do sympathise. Jags can be hard to sell, unless there's something special about it.

But I Love Them! I Do! I Do!

P.S. Did you import this yourself from UK? Or do I have the wrong one...

Much the same 11,000 miles away here in the UK. The only quick way to sell a Jaguar is either Part Ex or accept a significant financial hit.

Things may have changed, but when I imported my 1974 S2 XJ6 UK to NZ in 1979 (i.e. current model 5 years old) the sills were already rusted out (which I knew when I bought it). British Leyland...OR...That salt on the roads...never mind that NZ is an island surrounded by salt water...as is Japan where most of our 2nd-hand Jags come from...

Anyway, I don't know how I will sell my XJ 358 when it comes time. I'm the sort of guy who will only buy from a dealer with implied warranty or extended warranty. A private sale is literally "As is-Where is" (one could offer an Autosure Warranty, couple of grand for 3 years).

I am trying (with great difficulty)(and just dreaming) to enthuse myself on the latest XJ, where a trade-in might be possible...but I can't bring myself to go past the classic shape...with the woodwork...oh life is so difficult...better just to watch the trademe ads for free...
