Default Any riders?

I started riding in 2013, so I'm a little new to the game, but I fell in love with it pretty quickly. Bought a 2012 Royal Enfield C5 as a starter, and I honestly don't feel like she's in danger of replacement anytime soon.

I've so far been very impressed with her quality and resilience (we got rear ended once. She got better.) That exhaust note is pretty unique, too, and just like the Jaguar I drive, she turns heads everywhere she goes.

I've got a handful of mods planned for this year, including new seats and bars to really capitalize on that post-war look and a couple tricks up my sleeve for more horses, too.

Hi, I know for a fact we have some current riders. If you repost in Off Topic you may be more likely to get a response , they may not visit this section. Nice looking bike , I like the retro look. I am a very lapsed (many decades) dirt bike rider. Have never actually thrown my leg over a proper road bike.

Default Here is my girl

Taken about 5 minutes ago. Had to give it a tub today while the Jag was away having issues sorted.
Gets ridden most days, longest I have gone without riding since 1983 was 2 months when I lost my licence. One other time I went 10 days without riding on my Honeymoon.

my bike is my primary transportation...unless it's raining or snowing. Fortunately I live where I can ride almost year round. In my younger days weather didn't make much difference. I'm wiser today. (and I dislike having to scrub road grime off every square inch of chrome). Never had an Enfield, but I restored a Triumph Trident a few decades back.

VERY nice, I'm a new boy on here but I am a rider.

Would love a classic sometime but got Japanese bikes at the minute, got a Honda Blackbird but that needs some work doing, and off the road, but my garage has a few more bikes in too.

I'm currently riding a Chinese 125 that I bought to commute on and to be honest, I love it.

I have a Moto Guzzi V11 Lemans. Love it, especially in the mountains. If you don't have any heated riding gear do yourself a favor and get some. It changes the whole experience to be warm on a street bike regardless of weather.

I love Moto Guzzi's, I had a T4 850 years ago and nearly bought a 2001 V11 sport (in green), but ended up with the 2001 XJR1300 in Kenny Roberts colours.
Best muscle bike I ever owned.

How many bikes have you owned Clarke? Youve sampled a lot of machinery over the years

Have a 2007 MV Agusta Brutale 910R for the street and a 2007 Suzuki GSXR750 for the track.

Lost count, the Bonneville is the 28th road registered one(32 years riding on the road), then there are the projects that I never got out of the boxes and had to on sell "as is", track & race bikes, trials,MX and numerous resto's I bought for other people who never came up with the cash sold on for others to restore.

So to me the official count is 28, but I don't have pics of all of them since in the 80's it cost money to buy film and have it developed.

Haven't had time for a bike project since I got the Jag, too many hours spent on the forums!

Guzzi rider here too. You can see mine in my sig.

Also put a lot of miles on an 89 Yamaha FJ1200, riding all over the western half of the US.

I did a lot of miles on an FJ12 as well. all over the East Coast of Australia. I actually bought it from Klamath Falls, Oregon and had it shipped to me for less than I could buy it local.
After getting my 2001 XJR1300(1251cc), and realising it was the same motor I wanted to try an FJ1200(1248cc). What a bike, didn't have it long but enjoyed it and sold it after 12000 miles. It had to go so I could keep my XJR.

Wink

I had a 60 Harley eight and a half foot long chrome chop, with a 21 inch front wheel, and 16 in rear. It only had a drum brake in the rear, so I usually kept space between me and whatever I was going to die hitting. That single drum gave you one chance to stop. I had that bike since 76, and sold it just last year. I also had 3 triumph Bonnevilles, and a Norton 750 Cafe Bike, that I actually had flown over when I was a Seabee, so I could ride to the ACE. After the British bikes, I owned a KZ1000 police special, with all the lights and fun stuff like that, and finally ended my bike riding with a Ducatti 900 SSCR, and Ducati 851 Superbike, that I threw $8000 at Ferracci, for race cams, balancing, and the whole treatment. It was my favorite, but my wife had me get rid of my 2 wheel toys after my stroke. I'm gettin stronger every day, so who knows what is in my future. Right now I am building a pocket bike for my oldest grandsons who are 7 and 9.....Be cool....Mike

I don't have a photo of my 89 FJ1200, but here is a photo of one very similar. It looked black/gold, but it was really a very dark metallic blue that in bright sunlight was really sharp looking. It really was a great bike. Very comfortable, very fast, and just fantastic for long trips. When I sold it there were over 70k miles on the clock and it was still going strong. Mine had been mildly modified by a previous owner with a single Supertrapp exhaust, rejetted carbs, stainless headers, Fox rear shock, and front shock brace. That bike really flew.

...actually wouldn't mind owning one again if one came up with low miles.

This is my daily commuter when the weather is appropriate.

I also ride. Have an 07 ZX10 with a bunch of mods. Between work, the XFR and golf, it doesn't get ridden half as much as it should (actually more like an eighth as much).

Default Bump

Time to give this thread a nudge.

Bonneville long gone, had to have another jap 4 banger (1999 ZRX1100) in the garage. Had this one 9 months now. Really wanted one of these in 1999 when they came out but didn't have the coin so had to wait until 2001 for the purchase of the "o1xjr". (2001 XJR1300)

Her indoors has forgotten the purchase now that I have spent close to 7K on an XK engine rebuild recently.
