Nah, Not much into the Rat Idea, Cars or Bikes. Some of the ingenuity is neat! But it simply looks like they were to damn lazy to finish it, or do it right the first time. I kinda feel the say way about faked patina. Sorry but you asked.

Not a problem Jack.
Better to have an opinion than non at all.

I used to hate the Rat scene for the same reason. I assumed it all started because someone was "Too Lazy" to finish it properly. But I've seen some AWESOME rat bikes. I've considered making one myself, but always felt bad about making a decent bike look rat, & never found the right donor.
I have to agree with Jack (Jacobra) about fake patina though. I'm not a fan. Once again I've watched shows like Ian Rousel's "Full Custom Garage" where they do a patinated paint job. The one I saw was done to make the modified Cab & front section of Chassis match the rest of the car, which was a '39 pickup. So I spose it kinda worked. Although I would have stripped & painted the lot of it evenly rather than try to fake old patchy.

But yeah I like a Rat Rod/Bike if it's done right!

You can’t buy or make patina.
This is real patina. 20 years of bad storage.
Nothing cosmetic being done, just a mechanical resto. Rusty bolts and dirt staying,

Aw come on a wash job couldn't hurt it. Or are you thinking that's what's holding it together!

That was after it was pressure washed.

Rough Rough Rough! It's a shame things get put to the side, and allowed to deteriorate. I wish I could save them all, but I realized I don't have the Time, Space, or the Money. Raising a Family was a great adventure which I'll never regret. But the passion for taking care of the toys, was dampened quite a bit, by the need to always take care of the Family first. I told my wife we screwed up when we let the "Indians outnumber the Chiefs" LOL! it was 5 against 2. It's looking better. New brake discs, nice. Dad always said "If you can't Steer it, or Stop it, don't Drive it" OOOPPPPSSSSSS. I got the Brake discs thing from your other Post. My Bad.

I like rats that have evolved due to silly amounts of regular use, I don't like the fake ones built to look like that.
