Another that I miss. I had a 1993 VW Corrado VR6, bought it new. It wasn't as fast as a 928 or even a 944. But it was a comfortable and economical little car. They still look modern even today.
Other favorite, I had along with the Corrado was a 1970 Karmann Ghia coupe. Even the 1600 engine only had about 65hp, it wasn't fast, the brakes scary, handling so so. Hands down the best car for meeting Women.

A rare vehicle in its day.
I bought a stunning original 5 door hatchback model. Silver paintwork and black leather. Everything on the car was Cosworth: engine, auto box, drive shaft, DIF, wheels, brakes, steering, suspension, manifold, exhaust....
Apart from cleaning it up to a good standard, I fitted a Kenwood remote control audio head unit and Kenwood CD changer. Then a cat back stainless steel exhaust with two 3" outlets. Sounded nice.

I remember the Scorpio version well.
My car was the early Granada Scorpio, then the design changed to a somewhat rounded look and it became the Ford Scorpio, but they still had the Cosworth version.

It's safe to say I'm a "car guy"... I just purchased my 62nd one since I got my driver's license in 1973. I'll probably take some ribbing for this, but the car I miss most is my very first one: a brand new, orange 1974 Ford Pinto Runabout with black interior. It was a pretty basic car but decked out with all the optional chrome you could order on one. That 62nd car that I just bought is an essentially identical orange '74 Pinto. The only differences are that my original one had bodyside moldings and this one does not (although I have a NOS set to go on it) and this one is automatic whereas my original was a 4 spd. manual transmission (that can also be swapped out). Had some good times in that car and look forward to reliving my youth in my "new" one. Second on my list of cars I miss the most would be a 1979 Continental Mark V I purchased new at the age of 21 - it was white with a wedgewood blue landau top; very pretty car and a definite "feather in my cap" sort of thing for someone so young.

People loved to take the pee out of Rovers, until they saw mine.
It was very comfortable and fast enough.
It was the Rover 800 series, 2 litre 16v Vitesse (Turbo) fastback.
About 200 bhp and 5 speed stick shift.
Superb Recarro black leather sports seats and black leather generally.
I put the 18" rims on it and remote control Kenwood ice with 6 CD changer.

Two things though... First, I'm not really into convertibles, but they fetch a premium and between my wife and I, we have 5 vehicles already. Second, I know it's been there for some time (not sure how long) and if I go inquiring about it, it very well may end up on Craigslist or some other way to get top dollar for it. I have only seen the back end of the car. Not sure if it's a rottbox or in decent condition. I'd rather not spark an idea at least without cash in hand!

A Rover P5 Coupe. The interior was all wood and leather, and it was totally silent even at 70 mph. It was a sad day when it was written off in a head on by a driver coming over a humped back bridge on the wrong side of a double white line, Although both cars were written off nobody was injured. Even though the police attending the scene the other driver was not charged despite at a minimum being guilty of driving with undue care and attention. It brought home to me that the law is often not applied fairly or evenly...

I have already commented on this thread, but time has passed and I find myself missing a 1990 Ford extended cab Pick-em-up. I drove it as a drywall taper and it had The Most Comfy seats I have ever encountered. After a long day it was genuinely hard to stay awake on the way home. Those seats, and the Ford power steering. oooh what a ride.

I bought a new 280Z in 1978, and I still have it. Restored it twice, and it still looks nice, but I never drive it, and it feels like an old car unlike my older Pantera which is probably because of its tightness and tremendous power as well as not having all the hard plastic creaking as in the rear area of the Z.
