The new "Toy" for summer
A little toy for summer - 1977 with 22,000 miles on it. Very noisy and 60 mph is like being in a Spitfire breaking the sound barrier !!
Fun to drive, but very cramped inside. Wife had a trip with me and found it warm enough, so first test passed, but very noisy for her, so need to buy a set of earmuffs

The Midget is a '77, now on 22,000 miles, with a full service history, and with the original dealer invoice. It was purchased in 1987 by a friend of mine and I went with him to pick it up, so he could drive it home, with me driving his company car. He used it a bit until about 1991 when he got a job in Charlotte, NC. The car then only did a few hundred miles a year, sometimes much less, until about 1996 when he finally moved to the US permanently. He came home two or three times a year, started the engine, moved it out onto the driveway then put it back to bed.
Anyway...........
As things happen, he married a "Southern Gal" from Charlotte, and she wants them to have a beach house somewhere on Chesapeake Bay, so his UK house, and the Midget had to go ! So I offered to take it. It needed quite a lot of recommissioning, and so far I have spent nearly £1000 on it. Come Spring 2011 we will be out and about with it on nice days. Even with this low mileage, it still has a couple of rust holes in one of the sills; the build standards of 1977 were much lower than today, and also it was made under the British Leyland regime, one of our worst companies ever.

Great looking car. I have always liked the MGB's myself. The Midgets are a bit tiny for me but my uncle races a Midget in Vintage Racing in the VRG and SCCA. I have been told its one of the best handling MG's made.
Good luck with it. That will give you a lot of fun in the summer with some top down excitement.
