Default Van Mazda E2000 (=Ford Econovan): Carburettor was leaking petrol - fixed it

I don't know, if anyone cares (given this is a Jaguar forum), but I just fixed my old van from 1998 - it's a Mazda E2000.
I was suddenly stranded 2km from home - wife towed me home.
I soon discovered that petrol is leaking out of the carby (when I was under the car after just managing for a moment that the engine was running again for a moment, but rough.)
I ordered a gasket kit - the culprit were the rubber seals of that pin coming out of the fuel reservoir in the carby.
I put the carby back together again.
Btw.: Like always it helped A LOT to take a lot of pictures while taking the carby apart - I looked a lot at those pics, where putting the carby back together again...

I tried, if the car runs again with the connection to the air-filter not back in place.
Petrol was leaking big time - just coming out of the top of the carby - BUT: I realized that this was not the old leak - I fixed the old leak with those 2 rubber seals.

I quickly realized that the new cause of the petrol leak is now that the spring, which sits in the hinge of the swimmer (in the fuel reservoir) is somehow suddenly too strong and it stops the swimmer from coming up and closing the needle-valve... I tried to insert the conical shaped spring both ways. Still overflowing petrol. I then opened the carby for the third time and removed that spring. That solved the issue. All good now....

PS:
I wrote above 12 hours ago - and already there are 83 views - I would not have thought that there is any interest in this, but apparently...
Thus I am adding a few picture here:

That's the needle valve. I swapped that, too. As you can see the mini-filter on the old one had dissolved already.

That rubber part (grommet), and the one attached to the plunger going thru this grommet were the reason for the initial petrol leak.

This is the groove in which the lower part of the grommet sits.

That the nasty spring, which caused the fixed carby to overflow..., as it pressed down the swimmer despite the fact that the fuel reservoir was full, so that the needle valve did not close....

As mentioned above, all is good now. But just in case to carter for eventual future issues, I ordered and received a Chinese copy of a WEBER carby: I ordered:
Weber 32/36 DGAV DGV DGEV Carburettor For Mazda B2000 B2200
That carby is for the B2000 - the B2000 is the ute (=pick up) version and has the same engine as the E2000, but the B2000 has space for the airfilter in the B2000 engine bay - while there is not much space under the seat of the E2000. But I saw a complete kit for the E2000 for about AU$900 with all the adapter plates on top and bottom. I bought that carby on Aliexpr. for AU120 and if I need it one day, I will make those adapters myself.

PS 2:

The DGAV name stands for Doppio (Italian for "double" or twin),G (indicating a right-handed carburetor with counter-clockwise throttle rotation), A (referring to an automatic or aqua water choke), and V (denoting a vertical or downdraft design).
And the E in
DGEV stands for a model equipped with an electrically actuated automatic choke.
And
DGV is the manual choke.
The unit I bought contains all 3 abbreviations, which means that I have received all the parts which allow me to configure the carby as desired.

PS 3: Yesterday I replaced a tiny plastic worm drive inside of the speedometer, which was worn out and prevented the mileage to roll on and count.

PS 4: Today's plan is pull out the dashboard, as the lever for the temperature control fell off the plastic-knob, behind the dash, which needs to be moved to control the temperature - I may have hit a wall there - I am not sure, if I can do that. I removed most screws and bolts, and it is still stuck...
