This is why Jaguars are cool
I probably have way to many cars...Well my show/race/put to much money into car is currently in pieces. This past weekend was the All Ford Nationals at Carlisle PA and I needed to bring something... Last year I actually brought my XJR as I had the same issue...They have a class for Ford owned European vehicles. Its a huge event
ANYWAYS....I also have a silver 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. Its a boat, its slow but I like the way it looks and it sure has a nice ride....Well before I get carried away..Back to why I think Jaguars are cool (at least this weekends reason).
The mark viii (FN10) and thunderbirds (MN12) have the same bolt pattern as my 2004 xjr....And well I had these BBS rims with my winter tires laying around for my xjr. Soooooo.....Yes I put them on! And well the results? Third is class (stock 97-98 mark viii) Generally stock means up to three modifications. All I did was change the rims. Anyway..How cool is that! I kind of feel bad wining as I just detailed it and parked it in the show field not to return till the end of the day. Im involved in my other clubs event trophy wise and what not so I was pretty busy. Not the best Photos but what do you think? The car kind of grew on me

Caddy ma man!
I traded more or less my 2003 X for a 2011 Lincoln MKS...it was a fine ride with all the plushness of any Jag..but something was missing...6 months later I sold it and went to Plano, Texas and bought my 2012 XF..never regretted it..Though I still speak highly of the Lincoln.

After I had back surgery I went looking for a cheap, used luxury car to absorb the asphalt cattle trails that the City of Fort Worth has the audacity to call roads while I healed up. I didn't like much and had narrowed it down to the Lincoln mkviii and the Jaguar xj6-8. If I'd found a nice Lincoln first (that hadn't been converted to springs), I probably wouldn't be here. When I was a teenager, if you drove a 4-door sedan, it meant your parents had gotten a new car and that's still ingrained in my psyche a little so I was actually leaning toward the Lincoln.
But I was thinking the Jag was just going to be temporary anyway. However, I decided I really liked it and have had it for several years now. Jaguars are certainly cool. The old xj8 gets compliments from complete strangers a minimum of twice a week at least. I can't fill up with gas without somebody saying something nice about it. And its a 15 year old 4-door sedan, not a sports car, not even an r or vanden plas. I love the styling of the XKs and F-types but I probably couldn't drive one for being mugged by automotive paparazzi at every stoplight.
