The problem is some folk use 'UAE', some individual cities - but there aren't that many.

I am finding that there are not many XKRs here, at least on the second hand market. I am on the lookout for an XKR, 2010 model.
Any advice on where to buy? I have checked some websites, e.g. Dubizzle (virtually no XKRs in Abu Dhabi) and been down to Premier Motors (they had one 2011 XKR in stock, but it was about 30% more expensive than the private market). Also Motor World, but they had no XKRs.
Is it worth buying one in Dubai and transferring the registration to Abu Dhabi?
Or perhaps I should widen the search to a pre-2010 model?
The market in AD can be a little slower, there is certainly more choice in Dubai that Abu Dhabi.....transferring is pretty straight forward, just need to de-register (export in Dubai, transport car to AD and then test and register...., just a little painfully travelling to Dubai to view cars as descriptions of vehicles can be over exaggerated here.

Thanks guys - if anyone has any suggestions of dealerships or sellers in Dubai, I'd be grateful. I don't mind buying from a dealership but I thought the 30% markup by the dealer in Abu Dhabi was very unrealistic.
There is a chance that a very beautiful silver 2007 XK with only 60k km's convertible, GCC standards, 20", fully loaded (BONUS! Automatic roof top controller and brand new roof!) will become available soon (for around 100k AED - negotiable)
not an XKR.. but worth the money.. and very good drive..
Guys, I'm still having no luck finding a decent XKR. I think my options are to go for a different car in the meantime e.g. M3 or a Porsche, or to import an XKR, e.g. from the US. Has anyone got advice on importing?
if you buy at a dealer.. they can arrange the shipment to AD easily.. and registration is also very quick..
if you buy private.. swap the plates for export plates.. which allows you to drive for max 2 weeks.. then drive to AD and register the car in AD.. its very easy..
Dubizzle has multple XKR's available almost every month.. if you dare to downsize to XK.. there is even an 2012 model available for very low price (not mine)..
you can indeed import the car, but i think european models are easier to import.. but i'm fairly sure its not worth the money.. as cars >5years drop in price quite a lot.. this as the insurance does not even want to give you full coverage anymore.. with my XK.. My own bank did not want to provide a loan on a >2year old car.. and the insurance went off the full coverage after the car was >5. So take a minute, a month or a few.. and check dubizzle often..
if you were to switch.. may I suggest an Aston Martin... M3,M5's and Porsches are tooooo common in Dubai and AD
Thanks, guys, but I'm looking for a 2010 XKR (see post #9). The BMW or Porsche would be a temporary car. At the moment, I am car-less, using taxis everyday!
