My father in law has a 1939 (he believes) Jaguar SS100 which I was hoping to get some additional information on. He is located in the United States, and he believes he is only the second owner of the vehicle (purchased from a gentleman in Monaco in the 1990s). We are just beginning to research the history of the vehicle as he is considering listing it for sale soon, and would like to know as much as possible. Here are a few questions I hope someone here would be nice enough to be able to answer. Thank you for your time!
Prince Charles is listed on a temporary registration for this car. I have attached a copy of the Monaco temporary registration from 1999, and I wonder if this could be who I think it is?
I do not have access to the SS100 registry, and I wonder if someone might be able to share some of the backstory of this car with us?
Vehicle details:
Hunter Green 1939 (he believes, though there is some contradictory thinking it may be a '37) SS100, right hand drive. 3.5 liter engine
Vehicle serial: 39096
Engine Serial: M1073E (serial matching on engine, to plate on car chassis)
Body no: 5023
Temporary registration for Prince Charles Chassis serial number plate
Quick update - Turns out this sale was originally brokered by Charles Prince of Worldwide Collector Car Sales in London. Looks like this was a reasonable misunderstanding! I'll be speaking with Mr Prince tomorrow, but wonder if anyone else might have information they can provide on this particular serial number SS100? Thank you for your time!

This car has been somewhat modified....
1937 cars were 2.5 litre, 1938 and 1939 were 3.5 litre
There should only be one owl taillamp
Leaper on bonnet is incorrect, should be a dog-bone radiator cap
