AJ16-powered Locost
Recently, while admiring a Caterham Super 7 in a local car museum, my girlfriend asked if I could buy her one.
'No, sweetie, but I can build you something close.'
'Can you have it ready for my birthday?'
'Not this one, no, but maybe your 40th.'
'Okay, get to work!'
I think by now everybody has heard of the Locosts, which are cheap build-it-youself copies of the venerable Lotus Super 7. Many are built these days with Miata drivetrains, but if you check a Locost forum, you will find all sorts of crazed machines that would make Jack Kervorkian proud and make Ralph Nader wet his pants.
If I build a Miata-powered Locost for my girlfriend, I will want to drive it too. But would I ever get her out of it long enough to do so? Hahahahaha....

So ideally, if I build one I have to build two. I have this spare AJ16 engine from a lucky eBay bid.Raise your hand ifyou can see where this is going...
