Default Jaguar XJ-13 LeMans Prototype (Reproduction)

I was leafing through this month's issue of the duPont Registry and towards the back of the issue their is a 1 of 6 reproduction available of the XJ-13.

I realize it's not the real deal but still neat to see a replica like this available.

Marques

I think Norman Dewis took one of the original prototypes for a test drive in the early 1970's and rolled it after one of his tires went down.

By this way, if you click on the image of the car in the link, it opens to show various pictures of the interior / exterior.

I would really love this reproduction of the XJ13. It's been engraved in my mind that I will buy one in a couple of years. I think that TWR also replicates the XJ13 as well as the XJ220S and XJR9! However, does anyone know what the price for the replicated XJ13? None of the websites have a price for this.

I found the other website I was talking about. Its TWR replicas. Here is the link: http://www.twrreplicas.com/xj13.html

Depends on whether you want grp or all-aluminium. Also depends on the level of accuracy required. For an average all-aluminium copy of the current (rebuilt) car you could be talking around £200k (e.g. Tempero replica).

Also depends on how much of the work you are prepared to do yourself.

I am in the throes of an absolutely accurate replica of the 1966 car - I shan't post my anticipated cost here in case my wife sees .....

Project progress can be seen here Building the Legend

Default Claude Baily of Jaguar - XK to quad-cam V12

I have been gradually sifting through my most recent acquisition - a collection of personal files from the late Claude Baily of Jaguar. Baily, as many of you will already know, was one of the prime architects of the legendary XK engine as well as the quad-cam V12.

I have just posted some hitherto unknown and unpublished material relating to the XK and later V12. I hope you find it of interest.

Jaguar XJ13 | How many quad-cam V12s were built and where are they now?

I would appreciate any recollections/additions etc
