Question Leaper in the window?

Scatcat, thanks for starting this thread. The large red leaper artwork on the wall (in your first post) is something I'm considering (in dark grey) to fill the rear side windows of my XK coupe. I think it would make a nice "shadow" effect behind the tinted glass.

What do you think???

Thanks. It's actually Alpine Pearl. Lighter than Racing Green. It's parked under some trees so it looks darker.

Here's the full picture.

Default Very Old, Very Cool Leaper

This amazing car was on display at the Art of the Car Concours in Kansas City in June 2012.

It's a 1939 SS Jaguar 2 1/2 Liter Saloon. It was owned by the Queen Mum and Winston Churchill. Immaculate condition and purrs like a kitten!

Here's my 1950 Jaguar MK V (or one like it anyway. Mine is out being re-chromed!);

Steve c3h8,

I just had to mention as an interesting bit of history, that while that SS you show is very beautiful the leaper is off a much later car (probably a Mark 9). It was common to do this as the leapers were optional. Someone evidently put this one on much later. You can see the "chrome strip" recepticle at the base. Just something the Concourse guys would mark points off for! Also, if you look at the base of the leaper on my post, you can see that they had a triangular base. They were all approximately 7 5/8" in length

I realize this is a little divergent from this thread but here is my most favorite leaper and dream car of all time - - the Docker Daimler Golden Zebra. I love this car.

You'll have to scroll down the link a little.

Default Leapers on front-door speakers

I had the custom-upholstery shop apply these leapers to the speaker grills in my XK.
